Welcome back!

Everyone returned from holidays rested and ready to jump back into it which is fantastic! Harold the giraffe visited us on Tuesday and Wednesday and helped us to think about 'What it means to be part of a team' and 'What a good leader does'. It was great to see everyone participating in the activities and we look forward to these skills being transferred into the classroom.

Here are some of the thoughts from class members about their lessons with Harold:

I learnt that you need to share ideas and bosses don't listen - Spencer
I learnt to listen to other people - Isla
Try to include everyone's ideas - Annabella
Bosses don't share ideas but leaders do - Mason
Bosses are Me players and Leaders are WE players - Abby

This term we will be conducting quite a few science experiments as we begin to look at 'Change'. Mr Williams joined us in class this week to conduct our first experiment and to help us to think about - What we observe (see, hear, feel, smell, taste), what we infer from our observations and to use this information to make predictions or hypothesis. It was a fun experiment and we a re looking forward to exploring some more throughput the term!

We also looked at Pangrams - sentences which include all the letters in the alphabet eg; The five boxing wizards jump quickly. We had a go at creating our own and the challenge has been set to see who can come up with the most creative one over the next few weeks.

Have a good weekend,
Mrs Mainey
