For a short week, it certainly was busy! Not only have we been busy getting used to classroom routines but we also spent some time having a look around our awesome school and brainstorming ways that we can make improvements. We want to find a way to capture what makes Waiau Pa School so special - some initial ideas from Room 7 included a giant foam pit & flying fox, a cubby house with secret tunnels, a mural, some panels / paintings to display on the fence and some painting in the Karaka area. We need to refine these and make a decision on what is realistically achievable this term but we will keep you posted ....
We have also begun working on our topic "Identity" - looking at the things that make us 'us', what we like to do, what we want to be etc. Here's a sneak peek at our wall display which should be ready at the end of week 3.
- Homework begins in Week 3. This includes Spelling, Mathletics and Reading activities. Reading logs need to come to school everyday and homework books need to be returned on Fridays for marking.
- We will continue to swim everyday so remember to pack your togs :)
- Notices / permission slips for the Sonshine Ranch trip need to be returned by 1March.
